Our History
The history of Mancuso Group began in 1920, when Salvatore Mancuso decided to bring Sicilian gelato to the United States. With a gelato cart, he conquered the streets of Philadelphia and Detroit. In 1958, his son Vincenzo brought the tradition to England, founding the first small-scale gelato industry, which was an immediate success thanks to the excellent quality of the Italian ingredients.
In 1980, the return to Sicily marked the beginning of a new chapter: the founding of Mancuso Gelati. In 2002, the Group expanded into the seafood sector with the creation of Sicily Food srl, consolidating its position in the market.
Today, Mancuso Group is present in over 60 countries, with 3 plants in Italy, one in Serbia, an international office in Milan, and headquarters in Agrigento. Determination and quality have made the Group a global benchmark in the food industry.

The Origins of Mancuso Gelato
The production and sale of Mancuso gelato was started by the founder, Salvatore, who emigrated to the USA in 1920.
1958
Expansion into England
His son Vincenzo decided to move from Sicily to England. It was here that the first small-scale gelato industry was born.
1980
Return to Roots in Sicily
The family returned to Sicily, where Mancuso Vincenzo & C. srl was founded, initially known as Gelma Gelati.
2002
Diversification with Sicily Food
The family decided to expand their business into the seafood sector, establishing Sicily Food srl.
2020
Mancuso Gelati Italiani 1920
Mancuso Gelati Italiani dal 1920 was established, with four brick-and-mortar gelato shops located in Milan and Florence.
